Good Morning and Welcome to Fabulous Friday from my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊
Today's sunrise pics are brought to you courtesy of my numb little fingers!! It was a tad chilly out on the beach this morning......and our crazy weather continues today with gale force winds until around 11am.
Yesterday, I brought up the subject of "intentions"...
- Everything we do begins with an "intention"
Definition:- a determination to act in a particular way, an act or instance of determining
mentally upon some action or result.
It can also be defined as a guiding principle for who you want to be, and how you want to act, live and show up in the world everyday.
So, what does it really mean to "set an intention"?
"Setting intentions" is the act of stating what you intend to accomplish through your actions. It offers a sense of clarity, and helps guide your actions as you move through your daily life.
Unlike a "goal" which is something you want to accomplish or attain in the future....an "intention" is concerned with the present moment of your life, one that you can begin affecting immediately.
I've made my intention setting for the day, part of my morning routine, that way my intent to act in a certain way becomes embedded in my mind for the day. There are so many ways that you can have fun with how you keep your intentions with you throughout the day.
Here are a just few:
Write it in your journal
Set an alarm on your phone with a cool ringtone to go of periodically throughout your day
Put sticky notes on your desk, fridge etc.
Make your words your screensaver on your phone or PC
Write the word with lipstick on your bathroom mirror
Share your intention with a friend or loved one
Write it in your daily planner
So, now you know what an "intention" is, how to set it for the day, and how to remember it throughout the day. Now for the exciting part....Choosing your intentions.
You can set as many intentions as you like, but it's best to begin with just one until you get into the flow of things. If you have several intentions, once you are comfortable with the process, you can interchange them, rotating through your intentions, perhaps choosing the "one" for today, by thinking what would be most useful to you on that particular day.
For example, if you have a particularly important meeting scheduled in your day, you might choose your intention for that day to be something like this:
"Today, I am confident"
or
"Today I'm fearless"
or
"Today I'm strong"
or
"Today I'm successful"
You could just use the one word i.e., "Confidant", "Fearless", "Strong", "Successful".... make it your little mantra for the day.
Your words can evoke how you feel in the moment that you are confidant, fearless, strong or successful. You can visualize what outcome those feelings can produce. It may take a little practice, but honestly it can help.
Still unsure as to what your intentions may be? I thought it might be useful to write up a list of suggestions, which may help prompt you to create your own intentions...
So here goes:
Today I'm going to....
-Listen to my intuition
-Open myself to new possibilities
-Spend 30mins on my own, listening to what my heart is telling me
-Be creative in any way I can
-Speak my truth
-Be happy
-Be confidant
-Be my authentic self
-Stay in my heart and not my head
-Be compassionate
-Live well
-Explore new places
-Reconnect with my family
-Have patience
-Speak kindly to myself
-Practice thankfulness and gratitude
-Learning something completely new
-Do something spontaneously without planning
-Look for beauty in everyday things
-Listen more attentively
-Be supportive of my friends
-Have a positive, can do, will do attitude
-Appreciate the small pleasures in life
-I will forgive myself
I could go on for hours, but I'm sure you need to get on with your day 😊
For me, it's time for a refill on my coffee, and some work on my websites. Before I go though, I thought you might like to see a few more pics from this morning, now that my fingers have thawed out!
My incredible Friday Sunrise...

Until next time....
Take care, Stay Safe and.......why not start a list of what your intentions may be. How would you like to show up to your day?
Love and Hugs,
Pam

It is so true and helpful to start each day with intentions. I am trying to remember to do that and I thank you for the list you provided. It is very helpful to expand my thoughts on being intentional. As always, thank you!
