Good Morning and Welcome to a Brand New, Shiny Week😊
So, this morning I thought I'd take you along on my early morning trip to the beach (I wrote some of this blog yesterday, so the pics are not this mornings - Although the first one was this morning, I wanted to include, as it was so beautiful)
My day starts super early around 5am - first delicious mug of fresh coffee with JB and snuggles with the pups. Then it's down to the kitchen to pour some fresh coffee into my trusty insulated mug, pick up my backpack (which has my journal, puffy blanket and lots of spare pens!!), grab a bottle of water to drink on my 3min walk to the beach and it's off I go!

It's still dark when I walk through the grounds of the inn, and onto the little private road, past the huge rental beach homes, and up to the steps of the boardwalk over the dunes........
and here's where I catch my first glimpse of my Atlantic 💗

No matter the weather, or the season - that initial sight of the ocean always takes my breath away...Regardless that it's generally the same time every day and exactly the same place that I get onto the beach, it's always uniquely beautiful and awe inspiring.
Then it's off along the beach to find my usual space - Blanket down, journal out, coffee unlidded and then I simply am still, and just look, listen and breathe.
In the winter, it's so quiet, I generally have the beach to myself...occasionally there will be someone fishing in the distance - but for the most part it's just the ocean, the birds, the dolphins...me, myself and I 😊

My time at the beach varies - there is no set time to stay, no plan on what I will photograph, no idea what I may write or even if I will write....sometimes though, I'm so enthralled by what's going on around me, watching the sunrise spreading warmth and light onto the new day, that I'll write only one word!!!!! For me this time is incredibly special....so healing....💖

When I'm ready, I repack my backpack, even out the sand where I've been sitting and head back over the dunes - always stopping for that final photo of the morning...the last "glimpse over my shoulder"

Then it's a quick walk up past the huge, now silent houses, as this is the winter, and most, if not all, are empty....and on reaching the cut-through to the inn, this is the sight that greets me...

....and it's off for some breakfast with JB, and to begin my projects for the day.
This is my precious gift to myself....the gift of time
I don't make it to the beach every single morning....sometimes it's just not possible - and on those days, I still give myself the gift of "alone time", where I can be still....I have the same components that accompany me to the beach - a mug of tasty, steaming coffee, my trusty journal, pens and a soft, snuggly blanket. I find one of my favorite comfy, cozy spaces in the inn and spend some time clearing my head, setting me up for the day (for those that haven't read some of my previous blogs, you'll find out all about my "finding your space" by clicking this link:
Starting my day with a clear mind and fresh perspective, helps me, even on my more difficult days.
Do you give yourself a little time to yourself in the mornings or are you just like I used to be....mornings were just a manic blur with way too many things to do and not enough time to get them all done???? If that's the case, you may want to spend 5 mins reading another blog by clicking on this link:
Just giving yourself that tiny slice of time to yourself in the morning, can make all the difference. It truly is worth getting up that little bit earlier, and "gifting" yourself that special "me time" before your day begins - why not try it.....You deserve it 💗

Until next time,
Take care, Stay Safe... and make that time for yourself in the morning...
Hugs,
Pam
