My Hatteras...

Good Afternoon and Welcome to this beautiful Sunday 😊

Although I posted my blog much later than usual (as is this one.... Lloyd’s still here💗), I was amazed by how many people contacted me after they had read it, to thank me for the reminder to think about how they are prioritizing their lives.

It is so easy to get caught up in your "work world" and think you will just make time later in the day...the week.... the month.... the year...for your personal life. Unfortunately, often by the time you actually find that elusive free time - a precious moment is gone, your child has grown up, your relationship has ended, that restaurant closed, that place at the beach is gone, that person is no longer here...

Several years ago when I was so wrapped up in my work and the many problems of my days, and JB and I were unsure as to whether we should buy the horse-farm or not (buying it, ended up being an awesome decision 😊), an extremely wise person whom I admire and adore (and who is now in their nineties), asked me to sit with them for a bit, and he told me the following...

Life is kind of mixed up - when you're young and idealistic, you have so many dreams, so many plans, places you want to go to, people you want to meet, adventures you want to have....and you have so much energy and vitality, you feel you could conquer anything.

But you have responsibilities, your career may just be taking off, you may have a family to support, you're not as financially stable as you'd like to be, and as time goes on, those dreams, plans, adventures.... and yes, you, and the important people in your life, often get put on the back burner until that elusive day when you have the time and money to do all the things you want to do....

He then went on to say that when that day finally comes...and you have all the time and money that you would ever need, to do all of the things that you had once dreamt of - only now.............(and you knew this was coming!!!) you're just too tired to want to do them anymore, or they are no longer there. That time has gone 😔

The huge message was a simple one - don't lose sight of your dreams....as time goes by quicker than you realize.

We always think we'll find the time later, and often we put things off - always pushing them out for that elusive day when you can be free to spend as much time as you want with your family, friends, to travel, explore.... live your dreams. Don't wait too long, there are so many things you can be doing now...Embrace Life and have that adventure 💗

Until next time,

Take care, Stay Safe and spend a moment thinking about those precious things you are putting off for "when you have the time"...

Hugs,

Pam

Truer words were never spoken. I have a Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul daily phrase flip thing. I leave it all the time on the one that says "Nothing is worth more than this day" I try to live by this every day. We are not promised more than right now. Live with no regrets.
