Good Morning and Happy Fridayš
"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new" - Socrates, Greek Philosopher, died 399BC
So, yesterday as I lay on the beach in my shorts and T-shirt, watching the waves wash on the shore, as I wrote in my journalā¦.it was hard to believe that just a few short days ago, we were being blasted by a Norāeaster wind that mercilessly pounded our beautiful island.

The sun was warming my back as the waves slowly unfurled before me on the beach, caressing the sand with its cool waters. JB was enjoying the day with a spot of fishing (and yes, he did catch a fish!!!). Birds were flying in the hazy skies, dolphins playing in the surf, and there was an incredible calmness to the dayā¦. A quiet magnificence.

During the nightā¦the thunder roared, and the lightening flashed ā and the morning light brought the sight of flood waters once again. At least this time, the winds are much lighter and our tides not as highā¦.and tomorrow, the forecast is for 68 degrees and sun, sun, sun ā Life on a sandbar in the Atlantic š
Our lives are full of constant change, whether itās the weather, the seasons, our career, our romantic life, our relationshipsā¦. the potential changing dynamics are infinite.
Maybe itās my adventurous nature, my restless spirit, or just my love of transformations (donāt you find theā before and afterā of things amazing?) - but I have chosen to embrace all change.
For a long time, I spent way too much time over-analyzing the past, not acknowledging the fact that it cannot be changedā¦.so much time, so, so much energy wasted. To Socratesā point, I was too busy āfighting the oldā ā¦i.e., my past mistakes.
What a difference to your world when you shift your focus on embracing the change (even if it is one that you neither wanted nor planned) and learning to construct a new pathā¦.one that may take you to more beautiful things ahead.

As to today, with the rather stormy weather....I'm thinking it's time to catch up with some work at the inn - and then later, I'll cozy up with a good book... and perhaps a nice glass of red wine - enjoy the early darkness, knowing that tomorrow morning the sun will rise magnificently, and bring a brand new day with the opportunity of new beginningsš

Until next time,
Take care, Stay Safe, and Remember, you can't change the past, but you can create a new futureš
Hugs,
Pam

Pam,
As a macho wannabe, I feel this is a little soupy and magical thinking that anyone who studies physics knows is our only hope before our earthly existence is vaporized in a supernova in 5.5 billion years.
Keep the faith and it may just work.
Bruce in Happy Valley
Thank you; makes me feel a little better!
