Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and a Happy Hump Day from Hatteras 😊

With a northerly wind blowing this morning, it was a tad chillier than yesterday...and although still in my shorts, I donned my sweatshirt and trusty Uggs to keep me toasty warm for my beach-time.

I just love leaving the inn whilst it's still dark...with only a 3min walk to the beach, I'm at my ocean in no time.... and the scene is particularly magical at that time.

There were a couple of fishing boats just offshore, there lights shining over the dark waters, a lone fisherman on the beach....and my usual ocean companions (pelicans, seagulls, dolphins et al).

This morning as I was calming my mind, I thought about how much I can get caught up in the minutia of things - it's not that I'm a perfectionist (trust me, I'm far from it...more of a big picture type 😁). It's just I have a naturally empathic nature - I always like to put myself in the shoes of the other person (or animal....evidenced by my somewhat spoiled pups!) on the receiving end of anything I do. If I were them....what would make me happy.....feel good about myself, make me comfortable, be pleasantly surprised etc. And maybe, that was why I was successful at managing people and teams - I always tried to consider what they were facing, what they were feeling, what they may be thinking.

Sometimes, I get so caught up in the small stuff, that I lose track of the bigger things still to be done. Now, I’m sure there will be some of you saying that I should just prioritize better….but, as I sit here, and look out over the vast Atlantic ocean, I think of how I’m the “small stuff” in this big picture…. does this mean I matter less?

So, my thought to ponder this morning is - Just because something is small and seemingly insignificant to you, doesn’t necessarily mean it doesn’t matter. Why not try putting yourself in someone else’s position today, and think about how they may be feeling….will this change the way you treat them?

It's a tad cooler...time for my sweatshirt 😉

Until next time,

Take care, Stay Safe, and

Hugs,

Pam 💗
