My Hatteras Home...

Good Morning and Welcome to November 😊

I thought I would start the week with some fun...I wrote this little poem after walking on my Hatteras beach yesterday.

I had been working on getting organized for the upcoming "My Atlantic Retreat", which begins on Thurs (and I'm super excited about!!!)

and was getting a tad too immersed in everything I had to do, when JB suggested some brief beach-time to clear my head.....the absolute best idea!!!!

If you're anything like me, sometimes you can get a little too involved in a project you're working on and forget to take a break. I get so wrapped up in what I'm doing, I completely lose track of time 🙄

Taking this "time out" to clear my head was just what I needed, and although I'm blessed to live on the Outer Banks, and in particular Hatteras Village, and have beauty all around me that I can escape to whenever the need is upon me - This was more about stepping back from what I was working on, and taking a break, than necessarily being at the beach.

Stepping back from things I'm involved in, to take a break, is something that I've not always been that good at, sometimes to the detriment of my health and my relationships....but I'm learning that this can make me much more productive, happy, creative...and probably a tad nicer to be around too 😉

My message to you this morning is twofold:-

Try to remember that often taking a quick "time out" from what you're working on, will reap the rewards not only to your project, but more importantly to your health and happiness.

The other is.....You are never too old to change detrimental habits - Just because you've always done something a certain way, doesn't mean you can't change or amend it....it's your choice. Life is a huge learning experience.... and I'm definitely still learning 😊

(The by-product of my time out, was a crazy little poem, which just popped into my head!)

Let me be a mermaid…

among the waves I’ll play

Just let me be a mermaid…

with the dolphins I will stay

Let me be a mermaid…

I’ll call the ocean home

Please let me be a mermaid…

So I may ride my white horses in the foam

Let me be a mermaid…

oh the places I would see

Go on, let me be a mermaid…

My ocean friends and me

Until next time,

Take care, Stay safe....remember a "time out" can be a good thing

Hugs,

Pam 💗

There are so many life lessons we have both learned. Today's blog is exactly me. I have been doing better at taking breaks, going out into my garden (when it is in season) since I don't have an ocean nearby, and just take a few minutes to myself to re-center and look at the world around me. Thank you for that reminder!
