Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and Welcome to the weekend 😊

My Atlantic was flexing its muscles yesterday...I couldn't sit in my usual spot on the beach, as the sand was blowing into my eyes. So, I jumped in Jake, drove to the beach and had my coffee sheltered in the jeep. The ocean was absolutely incredible 💗

Quite soon, (although this was low tide!) the water started getting a tad too near to Jake, so I closed up, and headed to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse beach, where I could park my jeep in the car park and go out on the beach to take pics, but also see the ocean from there the back of Jake where I could write out of the elements.

The sight was captivating.....so raw.....so powerful.....so beautiful!

The sky darkened and we had some heavy rain, in which I got soaked whilst taking more photos 😁 (but no worries, I had dry clothes in my "go bag", that I always throw into Jake if I'm going anywhere).

As I sat and pondered my morning's mini adventure - a couple of things came to mind. The first was how many different moods my Atlantic can display, and living here in Hatteras Village on the Outer Banks, 30 miles out from the North Carolina mainland, accentuates that. What can be the calmest, serene scene, with a change in wind direction and velocity, can become a churning, powerful storm. And then, with another flip of nature's switch....the wind drops, changes direction...... and once more a calm and serene scene is before you.

My second thought was how we often need to adapt to the situation around us. I had to change my plans multiple times yesterday morning, simple things like taking my Jeep instead of walking to the beach, moving my Jeep when the water was getting a little too close, driving to a beach with a car park, changing my clothes when I got wet during the rainstorm....All easy things to do, but my point is that I had to adapt.

Instead of seeing that it was too windy to sit on the beach without being sandblasted and heading back to the inn where it was warm and dry...I changed my plan, but kept my goal in mind (that being, to drink my morning coffee, journal and take pics of the ocean).

Whilst this may be a very simple example of adapting, I've learned over the years, that having an agile approach to life, makes reaching my goals much more attainable.....this is a longer blog that I'll write about soon 😊

Until next time,

Take care, Stay Safe and have a wonderful weekend 💗

Hugs,

Pam
