Pam's Daily Wave...

ree

Good Morning.....and Welcome to Friday 😊

Before I begin, I wanted to clarify something I said yesterday....JB reminded me that being "blinkered" is a British version of wearing "blinders" both meaning the same: to see things through a narrow view. Apparently, blinkers are the lights on our cars that we put on before turning a corner....in Scotland these lights are called "indicators". Sometimes even after 10 years of living in North Carolina, I forget that not all the words and phrases I use, mean the same thing in the US, as opposed to in Scotland, so apologies for any confusion 😁

Yesterday, was about looking a little closer....seeing the things that are hidden in plain sight. The things we don't see unless we are more cognizant of the world around us. I thought today it would be worth mentioning the importance of processing what we see and hear....without judgement.

So often, our minds jump to judge a situation - often in the absence of the reasons that sit behind that particular situation. It's generally what we do....

Years ago, I found this wonderful quote that had been adapted from the writings of Rumi (a Persian philosopher born in 1207).

I love this quote - it reminds me that when we interact with others, we should suspend our pre-judgement and listen.

On meeting with individuals that I am coaching, I use this quote before we begin our first session. A reminder that everyone deserves the right to be heard without judgement, that we are in a truly "safe space".

My "safe space" is often just the ocean.....I can whisper my secrets, my hopes, my fears, my dreams, and know that they will be safe, they will be held just between me and my ocean, until I choose to share....or maybe not, maybe some thoughts just stay between us šŸ˜‰.

So, my simple ask of you this morning, is that you try to catch yourself before rushing to judging situations - look a little closer... and be ready to listen šŸ’•

The ocean listens to the soliloquy of my soul

Its tales of far-off lands across the seas

The many adventures had…

and many still to come

The secrets of my past….

the dreams of my future

My hopes

My Fears

My Passions

My Dreams

My Ocean hears it all…

Without hesitation…

Without judgement…

My Heart, My Soul…..My Atlantic

Wishing you a wonderful day....and an awesome weekend!

Until next time,

Take care, Stay Safe....and remember to listen

Hugs,

Pam 🄰

Its funny, when I read your post yesterday, I absolutely knew what you meant when you said "blinkers" because of the context. I love today's thoughts. We are always so quick to talk when we really need just listen. I have been working on this especially in all that has gone on in the last almost two years. Thank you.
